Contributing to the Toolkit via GitHub
Now that the DITA Open Toolkit is hosted on GitHub, it’s easier than ever to contribute changes to the DITA-OT source code or the documentation.
At DITA-OT Day in Munich, I demonstrated how to fork the
docs submodule, create a new branch, change the necessary files and submit a pull request — all from the comfort of your web browser.
We welcome contributions to the DITA-OT and hope this talk will encourage more people to participate. The first forks were created during my presentation, and many people approached me afterward asking how to help, so the initial reactions look promising.
The slides from my talk are available on Speaker Deck and embedded below, and video of each session will be available shortly on the event page.
